TwinCoat sets new standards for Triplex Board
First recycled board equally printable on both sides with the performance of GT1 is available
Gernsbach/Hoya/Weisenbach, 31rst March 2008/Kn: Smurfit Kappa Carton, one of the leading board producers and converters in Europe, launches TwinCoat a new GT1 board which is characterized by a two-sided premium quality surface. With this recycled board, offered in a range grammages (300 to 550 g/m²) Smurfit Kappa Carton enters the market for high quality sophisticated consumer products and display cartons. Designed for the purpose of two-sided carton packagings with a printing quality comparable with virgin fibre products, TwinCoat is now available.
The board experts at Smurfit Kappa Carton reached this effect with the new inline Twin-ABCTechnology establishing with this new coating method a visibly glossy smooth surface on both sides. Therefore TwinCoat can be used for various special printing methods enabling multi-purpose and sophisticated graphic designs. All established printing and UV-colours and varnishes can be used and hot and cold embossing is also possible. TwinCoat is suitable for food packaging.
This brand presents a recycled board especially suited to top ecological products, e.g. from the range of natural or naturally kept cosmetics and hygiene products, food and textiles. „We see for our new product good application purposes such as attractive packing solutions for products of consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals, and for graphic applications.“, says Steffen Rapp, Sales Director at Smurfit Kappa Carton, „it shows in the price-performance ratio, an interesting alternative to the currently used materials in the quality high-end use.“
TwinCoat links ecology and economy: as recycled board the product matches perfectly the spirit of the age in these times of climate discussions and environmental protection. This makes it an attractive packaging alternative for designated eco-brands as well as for products of companies committing themselves consciously to the protection of our environment and climate.
